What is a good shadow priest build?
I am a blood elf priest. I want to go with shadow/discipline for leveling and then in the end-game raids I will probably switch over to holy/discipline. So if any can come up with a good build that would be great. If at all possible use a talent calculator and give me the link. Thanks to anyone and everyone that answers.
World of Warcraft: Shadow or Holy Priest?
I do a lot of questing and leveling on my own, but I love to be the healer in dungeons; and I do a lot of both! I know you can dual-spec at a high enough level, but which talent build should I use until then?
Always difficult choosing a spec. Personally what I would do is go holy and level through the dungeon finder, and quest once and a while, but that is all personal preference. I’d say definitely dual spec at level 40, and choose if you would rather quest till then, or do instances till then.
world of warcraft priests.?
I want to make a priest but i want to do damage also, can you please tell me the difference between the 3 talent builds, in your’e own words. if i go holy i cant deal lots of damage right? but i can use shadow spells but it depends on what you specialise in that makes the spells better right? one more thing, whats, in ur oppinion the best money making profession, mine is mining. thanks
It’s true that you can use shadow spells to deal damage while you’re holy but they take up too much mana and don’t do as much damage as the holy spells. If you go holy, you get the extra dmg bonuses from your talent points, which makes your holy damage spells a lot more powerful (but still weak in terms of straight dps).
If you’re talking about pvping as a priest, holy isn’t terrible. You can keep yourself alive long enough to slowly eat away at someone’s health.
If you just want to dps, go shadow. Discipline is mostly a healing spec but, like the first poster said, it’s used for pvp healing (a lot of instant cast heals).
I’ve leveled a priest to 60 and had no issues healing in dungeons as Shadow. In terms of actual healing, Renew is your biggest friend. Keep Renew up on your tank, and throw a Renew on a DPS if they take a little damage. If the tank is taking damage so quickly that Renew isn’t enough, use (since you’re only level 11) a Lesser Heal. Power Word: Shield and Flash Heal should be used sparingly as they have a high mana cost relative to the amount healed; use them only in emergency situations. That should get you started!
